Once your tax return is received and processed the IRS issues more than 9 out of 10 refunds in the normal time frame: less than 21 days. However, incomplete or inaccurate tax returns may require further review and could take longer than the normal processing time.
You can track your refund at the following IRS website...https://www.irs.gov/refunds
IRS representatives can research the status of your return only if:
If your tax return includes EITC or ACTC, you should only call if the Where's My Refund? tool directs you to contact the IRS.
Hope this helps.......
Again how long does it take for them to receive my mail in tax
Once more how long does it take for irs to acknowledge my mail in tax return
@Peterjk56 It has been taking the IRS about six months to process mailed returns. They are severely backlogged. If you want to mail your tax return, use a mailing service to track it like certified mail so you will know it was received, because it may be a very long time before any information shows up on the IRS refund site for a mailed return.
And....if you are asking about a 2020 return, the refund site is not going to show anything for 2020 now. it only shows information for 2021 refunds.
As xmasbaby0 indicates, it can take a while to process paper-filed returns.
That said, the IRS advises that you can start checking its Where's My Refund? site for your return status four weeks after you’ve mailed your return.
