How long does it take for status to change from pending ?

It will take until January 29 or after---the IRS starts to accept/reject returns on Jan. 29

After the official processing start date of 1/29 the returns are usually accepted/rejected within 24 - 48 hours but before 1/29 it can take several days. Some returns are pulled before the start date in test batches however they will not process until the 29th.
