How do i update my routing number for the deposit of my 2021 amended return?

I spoke with the IRS and they will be depositing my amended return, but my account is no longer active.

You cannot change anything once the return has been filed  ... if the bank will not accept the IRS direct deposit then the IRS will mail a check to the address on the return.

AND...if you moved to a different address since you filed that amended tax return....fill out a change of address form ASAP and mail it to the IRS:
