That above "answer" answered nothing lol. If you are being audited you will get a letter in the mail from the IRS. they do not email or call, ever! Only notify by letter.

What are the chances irs holds your return if your notified that your being audited? Or they are requesting documentation to prove you qualify for the EIC? 100%? I just received my state refund Thursday.

Beginning in 2017, if you claim the EITC or ACTC on your tax return, the IRS must hold your refund until Feb. 15. This new law requires the IRS to hold the entire refund

My tax return has been saying processing since January 29....Should I be concerned

Depends on if your claiming the child tax credit. If you did not claim the EIC or other credits then you should call the irs to find out whats going on with your return. Good luck.
