You should enter your non-cash charitable contributions by following the steps outlined below, and they will flow to your Form 8283.
Thank you for the information
So if the Donor advised Fund company created a form 8283, I can enter all of this info on the Charitable donations section? And it needs to be mailed in? or does the TT software complete the form?
Thank you
Yes, TurboTax will help you prepare the form. This form can and should be filed with your tax return. It is not a signature document which means it must go with the tax return. It can also be completed in TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop using the Step by Step interview. It can be e-filed with your tax return.
I think this is incorrect. I am talking with TT person now on the phone and apparently if you give a DAF and receive form 8283 from the charity, you cannot file automatically on TT! TT indicates you have to pay TT and get their tax document downloaded - then print out the TT tax document AND print the 8283 form and hand mail them in by US Mail. Can TT verify this here?
Tax situations TurboTax does not handle charity section is on pages 10 and 11. Since your program does not let you attach the required forms for donations over $5,000, those need to be mailed. To mail your return, I suggest you use tracking, no signature required.
