The IRS requires your 2018 AGI to verify your identity for e-filing. If you're paper-filing your return, you won't need your AGI because those are manually processed.
There are a few places you can get your 2018 AGI:
You won't find your AGI on your W-2 or 1099 form because those forms don't take into account over a dozen above-the-line deductions that go into calculating your AGI.
If you didn't file a 2018 federal tax return (or you haven't filed one yet), enter 0 as your AGI.

I am trying to file electronically, but keep getting rejected because of either an incorrect AIG or Self select PIN.
I know the AIG is correct , so how do I find my PIN from last year?
The Self-Select PIN is a random 5-digit number that you enter as your electronic signature when e-filing your return. The PIN number was a random number that you chose last year and is not kept in our system. Only you have access to that number. The IRS is asking for your last year's Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) in lieu of that PIN number.
You can use last year's AGI. Do not enter a corrected amount or the amount from an amended tax return.
For the purpose of signing your electronic return, you can reuse your Self-Select PIN from last year or create a new one to use, it doesn’t matter which option you choose.
You create your own Self-Select PIN. You do not register the PIN with the IRS before filing or need to contact the IRS to get it. The five-digit PIN can be any five digits except all zeros.
You can retrieve your filing PIN here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Electronic-Filing-PIN-Request
The IRS requires your AGI for identity verification.

@Kimiko01 @ You are posting on a post that was for the 2019 tax season, look at my answer above yours, you can still use the steps to find your 2019 AGI. By any chance was your 2019 return processed late? Allot of Federal returns for 2019 were processed after the due date, if that is the case put a zero for your 2019 AGI.
OR: If you filed an amended return in 2019, do not use the AGI from the amended return, use the AGI from your original return.
