How do I get last years return? Keeps telling me to download but will not open.

I need my 2024 return filed with turbo tax but gives me an error when I try to open but I get an email saying I accessed my 2024 return?

1)  That email shows up whenever you download any file from an "Online" TurboTax account.

2)  If you had actually paid for the "Online" software for 2024, back when you created the tax file,  then there should be a 2024 PDF file to download that opens with (almost) any PDF file reader.

3)  If you didn't pay for the 2024 "online" software, then all you can download is the .tax2024 datafile from your Online account.  To see what's in that file, you'd have to buy, download, and install the 2024 "Desktop" 2024 software, on a full MAC or Windows computer, to open that datafile before printing out whatever was in that datafile.
