How do I find the detail behind lines 15 a and 15b on my 1040? The tax return that I printed does not show this. I suspect that I need to go to a specific work sheet.

The worksheet titled Form 1099-R Summary will show the details behind lines 15a and 15b from Form 1040. 

To see that form, you would need to choose to print your tax return with all calculation worksheets.
