The IRS will send you a letter explaining the adjustment, but it usually takes about three weeks to arrive. If you got your refund already, check the IRS Where’s my refund? site to see what they adjusted and how it impacted your refund. It may take several days for the site to be updated.
For information on why your refund may be lower than expected, please see the TurboTax FAQ below:
Why is my refund direct-deposit or check lower than the amount in TurboTax?
On the IRS refund track, it states the amount that was initially on TT, to be deposited. I guess I'll just have to wait for this letter. There is no reason it should be different. We have never had to pay in and have always paid our fees out of our return.
Please see this Help Article for possible reasons as to why your refund was less than expected.
You will need to contact TPG for information regarding your refund. They are one who handles your refund if you elect to pay your fees with your refund. You can also check out this TPG Refund Tracker to check on your refund.
So, I have done that. The problem I have is that my federal refund is different than what was received, then the TT fee was taken out. So like, refund was to be one payment, but the payment received was 162.14 dollars less, then the 122.14 for TT fees was taken, and what was left over, was deposited into our account. No matter where I look, no one can explain this to me and why the amount is different.

You have not factored in the $40 service charge from SBTPG for processing your tax refund to remove the TurboTax account fees and their service charge. This would be $122.14 + $40 = $162.14
