How do I amend my tax forms? I filed in March forms were accepted mid March and I got my 2nd stimulus check the last week of March. How do I amend them 2 account for $600

The get my payment thing still just says accepted. How do I or do I even need to amend my forms. And I live in Illinois claimed single and still haven't received my refund or the rebate tax credit. What do I do to expedite all this?

You cannot do anything to expedite the processing of your tax return.   Millions of people are waiting for delayed refunds.   If the answer given on your tax return for the stimulus amount you received was incorrect, the IRS will catch it and reduce your refund.   They cross check for the stimulus checks and recalculate your refund when there is an amount on line 30 that you really received.    You do not amend for that.   Amending would NEVER be the way to speed anything up----it takes them about six months to process an amended return---so do not attempt that as a way to "expedite" your refund.

Sorry---but all you can do is wait for them to process the return.

As of May 15, 2021, we had 300,000 individual tax returns received prior to 2021 in the processing pipeline. Including current year returns, as of May 15, 2021, we had 16.4 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.
