How can I get any clarification with my stimulus payment? The IRS are not taking calls and the site say status not available but on turbo tax, it says i should be.

Looking for your stimulus payment?
It looks like you've already e-filed your 2019 tax return. The IRS has the info they need to qualify you for a stimulus payment. Note that you can't update your payment info here—the IRS will either send payment to your bank account or mail you a check.

Unfortunately there is no way to get any more information. You basically just have to wait. Check Get My Payment on the IRS web site once a week or so. It might change.

TurboTax does not get any information from the IRS about your stimulus payment. What TurboTax says is just an assumption about how the IRS will process the payments. That assumption might or might not be correct for your particular case.

The whole stimulus payment system was thrown together in a big rush, and it has a lot of rough edges.

This means that TurboTax has sent your return to the IRS. The IRS uses 2019 returns (or 2018, if you haven't filed 2019) to process the stimulus payments.

You cannot update your payment info on TurboTax after your return has been e-filed. The return is now in the hands of the IRS.

The IRS rolled out the "Get My Payment" tool here. According to IRS.gov, you can use the "Get My Payment" application to:

  • Check your payment status
  • Confirm your payment type: direct deposit or check
  • Enter your bank account information for direct deposit if the IRS doesn't  have your direct deposit information and if they haven't sent your payment yet.
  • Receive paper check payments: If you moved since you last filed, let us know your new mailing address.
