Have you already e-filed your return, *and* it's been accepted by the IRS? If so, is that processing by the IRS complete yet? You don't want to do ANYTHING until processing of your currently filed return is completed in it's entirety.
If you owe tax, your e-filed return is not completely processed until you have paid your taxes due and that payment has cleared your bank.
If you are due a refund, then processing is not complete until:
- Your refund is deposited to your bank if you elected direct deposit, or:
- You have received your paper check in the mail, if you elected that option instead of direct deposit.
