Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
Who told you to email TurboTax? TurboTax support does not have an email address and contacting support would not be of help since TurboTax has no involvement whatsoever when it comes to the status of a tax refund.
If the account was closed for direct deposit the bank would have rejected the tax refund and returned it back to the IRS. The IRS would then mail you a refund check to the address on your tax return.
However, if you requested to have the TurboTax account fees paid from the federal tax refund the process is slightly different.
If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
