Hi. I need to amend my tax return. I received a 1099G. It only asks me how much I received, no question about taxes taken out???

I had taxes taken out of my return but it's not asking me for those details.  Is that normal?

What is the 1099G for?   is it for unemployment?   Or something else?   There are several kinds of 1099G---you might have one for getting a state or local tax refund last year.  The kind you have makes a difference in where you enter it in the software.

As stated by @xmasbaby0, the kind of 1099-G you received makes a difference on where you enter it into TurboTax. 

If your 1099-G was for unemployment compensation or paid family leave, please follow the instructions below:

1. Open or continue your tax return.
2. Search for 1099-G and select the Jump to link at the top of the search results.
3. On the Did you receive unemployment or paid family leave benefits in 2021? screen, answer Yes.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your 1099-G information.

If your 1099-G shows an amount in box 2, go here for alternate instructions, as the steps above won't work.
