What filing status did you use? What filing status did you want to change it to? After the filing deadline of April 15, 2024 you are not permitted to change from married filing jointly to married filing separately. Other changes in filing status are allowed, but not MFJ to MFS.
You cannot change your return while it is in pending. Wait for it to be rejected or accepted. If it is rejected, yu can make changes and re-file. If it is accepted, wait for it to be fully processed to amend.
I wanted to thick single status, but accidently forgot to do it. Also, in refund status I always get information Refun status error, hence not sure if that means they haven't started processing my request or my data don't exist in their database? Thank a lot for the help.
@andjelaa Please look at your Form 1040 and then tell us what filing status has an x or a check mark by it on the form. Filing status is up near the top ---- just below your name and address.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
None of statuses has an x.
You would not have been able to file it a filing status wasn't marked.
