How do I get a copy of my 2016 tax return document

Here's how to download/print/view an already-filed 2016 return that was prepared online:

• Log into your account and go the 2016 Tax Timeline.
• Scroll to the section "some things you can do".  
  
• You should be able to "download/print the PDF", which is a basic version. 
  
• There should also be a link for "download all forms and worksheets" which is a larger PDF with the calculation worksheets and additional forms.
• There is also a link for the *.tax file if you want to save the actual tax data file.
  

I usually save both PDFs and the tax data file.   Be careful with all these download files. They are all very sensitive since they are full of personal ID info, financial data, possibly bank account info, etc.  So store them safely and securely to guard against computer theft, hacking, etc.
