@BrandiLO thank you very much - i am humbled, i did the phone prompts again today, this is the third time in as many hours, and is as many weeks, lesson is, don't make a mistake on your taxes, this is what ive tried, the numbers have also recently changed (feb 21), amended 1040x status is automated (no agent) [phone number removed] which is the same system (just telephony) as the irs.gov/where-is-my-refund web app status, the message in the app at this site says "check your amended refund date, if it is more than 16 weeks please call, don't submit another amended return" for a couple of weeks (dec 20 and jan 21), the web site and app gave a phone number [phone number removed] and asked to use extension 462, this phone and extension went in a loop, and now directs to the same message as the number I listed (above), the individual tax help number [phone number removed] for tax questions has also been automated, after navigating the prompts today, the refund and amended refund status to the number ive listed (above), and the extensive prompt option(s) direct you to go to the website, thank me for calling, and disconnect
