It just means that your NYS return is being manually reviewed. Each state randomly selects several returns to review. Unless there is an issue, in which case NYS will contact you, the only thing to be concerned about it that your state return will take longer than your Federal.

From what I was told it switches back to proceasing after a few days or weeks
