Will my refund be affected if the name associated the billing address is not the same as my name despite the refund being sent to my bank account?

To elaborate, I noticed too late that the name associated with the billing address for my refund is under my mother's name and not mine but when I set up the direct deposit, I used my own bank account. However, I share the same billing address as my mother, will this affect my refund getting to me?

For direct deposit, banks will usually ensure that the name and bank information match the bank records. If you provided the incorrect name for the bank account owner when you e-filed - i.e. your mother's name, but the bank account is in your name - it is too late to change it. Don't worry - you will still get your refund. If the bank does not allow the direct deposit to proceed, the government will send you a check.
