Your Tax ID is your social security number.
However, if you are referring to your Federal ID number, that is the same number as your EIN (Employer Identification Number). You can obtain a copy of this by contacting your employer and asking them for a copy of it. However, there is an additional option to you have.
In the TurboTax software when it asks for your EIN/Federal ID number, you can leave that "blank" or enter "0" and you should still successfully be able to file your taxes. I know this may sound strange, but when the IRS receives your return, they will be able to verify your EIN since they are the individuals that handle your actual return.
