Did anyone else get an email from TurboTax congratulating you that your refund has been processed when it hadn't? I received an email on 20 Feb saying it was processed and I would see the money by 21 Feb. It's now 22 Feb. I checked the TurboTax website which claimed the money was in my account. I finally went to the IRS website and it hasn't even processed.
I had made a lot of plans based off of that email such as scheduling my dog to get the eyedrops to save her vision.
I tried speaking with a rep but she couldn't do anything. She gave me a number to speak with a higher office. It was the number of a completely different company who couldn't help me.
I've used TurboTax for several years. This is the first time where I felt as though they blatantly lied claiming my refund had processed.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing of your return or the release of your refund.
Here are a couple FAQs to track your refund:
When will I get my federal tax refund?
How do I track my state refund?
Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"?
That wasn't the issue!!!!
I know TurboTax doesn't have control of how soon the IRS processes returns.
They sent an email claiming my refund had processed. It hadn't! They never should have sent that email.
Do you mean you got that email that went out from marketing that said your refund was "on its way"? Disregard that. TurboTax gets no information from the IRS after the IRS accepts your return for processing. TT never knows when or even if you refund has been issued. The only source of information is the IRS refund site.
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act. Do not expect your refund earlier than late February.
How in the world was I supposed to know that TurboTax doesn't monitor my refund????? Their email clearly states that they are.
Also, I didn't need the super long note that you posted. I was able to figure out how to get to the IRS website myself.
There's nowhere on TurboTax's website where it clearly tells the users to track their refund themselves. It is false advertising.
They do provide the IRS link on their website but they don't tell users to go there.
