We have a offset they already took my state and I'm sure I didn't owe as much as I was getting back but wmr says my refund was taken to pay back taxes but I can't find any info on any that's left over and I can't find any info on what I originally owed I dont know what to do or think

I have a few questions, even if you have a payment arrangement with the state for back taxes and you are current can they still take your federal return? Do they take the entire amount you owe or a percentage? Also if you received a letter for an offset but you have 60 days to pay can the state garnish your federal tax return even when you still have more time to pay?

Filed Jan 12th, received a DDD on Feb 18th for the 23rd of Feb. I have an offset for back child support, will it be delayed??

Entire reason for a payment arrangement is to not have your taxes withheld.  Every situation is different.  Even if child support was taken out of the state, the fed. Return will still be posted to a bank account.  That is of the state you reside in. The next year they will takr the state out again if anyone owes back child support payments.

I only know most of this...I do all my Friends' taxes.  Every situation they let me know.  Student loans my personal experience.  Then we get on Turbo Tax!

Filed for bankruptcy then filed taxes. The us department of edu took state and is trying to take the federal but they claim it's against the law for them to touch the money because of Thebes's bankruptcy. Anyone know will I get my refund on the expected date since they can't legally take my money?

Hydeia...I have never heard that they can't take your money.  Good for many people as situations do change.  I would keep checking your bank account.  One year I received my money before the TT Website said my refund was sent.  Could be at 12:01am the day to receive of the day prior.

I'm owed a refund offset for backed up child support. How do I know if it's been processed or is there any way to find out how long it takes to receive it?

How about for unfiled taxes? they are holding my refund until they receive those. anybody know how long form the time the receive my past returns?

I have received my ex's money for back child support.  I just kept checking my child support card.  No other way to find out, unless you ask your ex and he is honest and will let you know if he is to receive any money.  Offsets are a pain either way.  If you are waiting on money owed to you from Child Support or waiting to get your return due to owing an offset and waiting for the remaining balance.  No way to tell.

I found out that I had a offset for the US department of ed and when I called the offset hot line it said that my whole refund had applied to my offset and this was on the 22 of February 2017 and on the where is my refund site the bar for refund sent wasn't orange like the other  two but I called on February 23,2017 and got approved for a low payment plan program checked the where is my refund site just for the hick of it and now the refund sent bar is orange and it says that my refund was sent to my bank on February 23,2017  so could this mean I will get my refund now

No... I haven't; I spoke with someone from the department of Education and she's going to email me the hardship package and said it could take up to 90 to 120 days to receive my refund!!! Why so long OMG
