My husband died this past January 2023, so doing my taxes for 2022 I listed myself first on the joint return. When I got to the end I had a lot of trouble with the efile being rejected, even after making multiple attempts to fix it. I got frustrated and started a new return using my husband's name first on the joint return. Both returns have on when my husband died. The numbers came out with a $15 difference, but I didn't find out why before I efiled the one under my husband's name. It was accepted. Then I went back to delete the return with my name first and then saw that the first return had been accepted too...now what?
