You don't have to pay to download or import a .tax file. Can you clarify the issue? Are you trying to import a prior year, or transfer to a different computer? Import from online to desktop?

Thank you for responding to the post.

I am downloading prior year (2021 .tax file) from turbo tax online full service account, it is empty file no entries in it. When i import downloaded .tax file into turbox tax desktop software 2022, there is no auto-populated data from previous year (2021), its blank entries.

I need the working .tax file from yr 2021 so i can do my taxes for yr 2022 using turbox tax desktop software.

I hope this clarifies issue i am facing with the turbox tax.

When viewing the return within Turbo Tax online prior to downloading, does it show the information within the return?

I was able to work with turbo tax professionals and figure out how to do manual entries from the prior year tax return. Issue with empty .tax file and pdf file still stand, but I am past my hurdles.
