Download Previous Year's Filings

Can I download previous years filings? My screen does not display the section Your tax returns & documents. Thus I cannot download a previous year's pdf. I do not want to request and pay the IRS for a copy.

IF...if you used the "Online" software last year, and IF...you have logged into the exact same account you used in prior years.....then.

1)   You must start thru the initial pages of the 2021 tax return....mostly the Personal Information stuff.

2)  Once you have gone thru a number of those initial 2021 start-up pages, make sure you click on "Tax Home" in the left menu  (Tax Home won't show until you've started into the 2021 Q&A)

3)  Only then will you be able to scroll down to find and expand the "Your tax returns & documents" section to display the prior year's files that are in that particular online account.

But...for anyone who used the desktop software in prior years...those tax files will only be on your own computer...or any backup device you should-have saved extra copies on.
