No, you would not need to amend your federal tax return to fix your city/local taxes. Make sure your employer has the correct information on your W-2 and TurboTax will handle those correctly. If you think you have paid a city or local tax to the wrong municipality, contact that city to verify and get any refund due you.

Would the same thing apply if someone filed with the wrong city for a few years? An example being they live in city A but work in City B, and have mistakenly been filing taxes with City B instead of A. Is there someone specific that can help me handle this?
Possibly. Can you clarify which state and cities you are referring to? This will allow us to guide you as filing requirements do vary by state.
I live in Walker, MI but work technically in Grand Rapids, MI.
With the way the city taxes section is worded in TurboTax I was under the impression I had to pay the city I work in, not live in and I was under the impression the area where I live was part of Grand Rapids as well. My previous employers have all listed my locality as Walker and local taxes for such have been withheld from what I've seen on my W-2's, though I've been paying tax money towards Grand Rapids.
I've been living in Walker as a full resident since 2020 and I only found out about this recently, so I'm a bit lost on what to do now and anxious to fix this as soon as possible.
Grand Rapids requires that you file a nonresident city return when you earn income within their city limits. Therefore, filing within Grand Rapids was correct. Please see the excerpt from the instructions below for more details on the filing threshold for this city return.
As for the city of Walker, you are required to file a City of Walker income tax return if you were a resident at any time during the year, regardless of whether you worked within Walker or not. Please see the attached link for the full instructions as well as a direct link to the City of Walker should you need the forms to file your required returns. You can also try contact the city for further advice on how to proceed depending upon the number of years involved.
