I received a W-2 C after I already filed and it changed my 12a from D to DD. Am I going to need to amend my return?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
If your return has been Filed and Accepted, at the Sign In page of TurboTax, click the arrow next to 'Show' to the right of 'My Tax Returns and Documents' (screenshot).
Choose Download. Once you have the PDF file of your return, look for a worksheet called 'W-2 and W-2G Summary'.
You will be able to see your Box 12 entry.
You might. Code D is for your contributions to your Retirement Plan, which you may have received a Saver's Credit for (depending on your income).
Code DD is the amount your Employer paid for your Health Insurance, which doesn't affect your return at all.
If you download a PDF copy of your return (click on Download at the 'My Tax Returns and Documents' link on the Sign In page), look for Form 8880 in your return and see if there is an amount on Line 12.
If so, you will need to mail in an Amended Return after you receive your Refund.

@MarilynG1 I think when I was filling that W-2 it might have already switched to DD when it was D on the original W-2 when I put in my Employer ID number. So I may not have to worry about it but I don't know how to check.
