If your bank account number is incorrect and you are due a refund, call 1- 800–829–1954

You can try and get it corrected if its soon enough. If it's too late to correct,  it will most likely be rejected and they will mail a check to the address you provided

If you've already e-filed or dropped your tax return into a mailbox, unfortunately you cannot change the information provided.  . You can try calling the IRS to stop the direct deposit, if your return hasn't posted to their system yet (and you're willing to get your refund via paper check). For security reasons, the IRS cannot re-route your refund to a different account.
