My dd date was 2/26 I haven’t received any fund my refund tracker still says fund sent 2/26 Does anyone know if the refund tracker will change to bank rejected or check sent? The bank account was closed but I have another account with the same bank and they act like they don’t know anything as far as deposit or rejected. Has this happen to anyone and how long was it before you got your check?

Yes, but the bank will need to reject the deposit and once it is sent back to the IRS the status will update. The IRS will also update when they send you a check. If you continue to not have progress with your refund and it goes over two weeks please see this information from the IRS as you may need to initiate a trace: https://www.irs.gov/faqs/irs-procedures/refund-inquiries/refund-inquiries-18. This will allow the IRS to contact your bank.
My refund was rejected and sent back 2/27 as of 3/10 the IRS still haven’t received my rejected refund. Is this normal? I’m worried why it’s been 12 days since it was rejected and they still haven’t received the rejection notice. Isn’t this all electronic. Seems like something as simple as sending a email. The IRS also told me it wouldn’t be best to file form 3911 until it’s been 5 weeks since the bank said they rejected the refund and sent it back.
Turbotax resubmitted my federal return. I don't have the final return which was modified by IRS. I got my refund.
According to the website I posted it states two weeks waiting time for form 3911 not the eight weeks the IRS representative told you. The IRS is very specific how they do things and will require that form at some point if you don't receive your paper check refund.
You could contact a Taxpayer Advocate to help you since you may be getting conflicting information: https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/tax-pro/how-can-the-taxpayer-advocate-service-help-me/L49zEnBVx.
Please clarify your request for help. Is there something specific you need help with?
Hi Thank you I’m asking if it is normal for it to take longer 12 days for the Irs to get back my rejected refund from the bank. It was rejected and sent back 2/27 I talked with the IRS rep. And it’s not showing in there system that it was rejected and returned.
Your bank specifically stated they rejected it correct? It typically does take a few days however yes 12 days is longer than what is expected.
They even gave me a transfer number for the rejected refund. I thought that seemed odd 12 days.
Have you contacted the IRS and given them the transfer number you have for the rejected refund? It may allow them to track it in their system easier.
I offered the number but she didn’t want it.
