Maybe, did your payment actually occur?
See this NM news posting (and read ALL of it carefully):
Some New Mexico taxpayers received incorrect late penalty letters, state says (krqe.com)

But as a general suggestion,
,......NEVER ever arrange to pay on the last day allowed....always file and pay at least a week earlier than the deadline.
Yes the payment was debited from my bank account. I do wish that when you do your online taxes with turbo tax you could change the date of payment for a bit earlier than the last moment. I did find a news article that explains that Intuit payments to state were made late. So I’m guessing I’m not alone. Somewhat reassuring. 😳
The program defaults to the last filing date however you do have the option to choose another earlier date. It was in the FILE tab step 2 ... watch for it in the future.
Yes!!! I got a letter from TurboTax saying it was an error on their part and they’d fix it. Today i got a collections letter from the State of Nm and it’s accruing daily interest. Not cool at all TurboTax. I’ll pay it tomorrow even though it was a TurboTax transmit error.
You may be eligible to make a claim under the TurboTax Accurate Calculation Guarantee as shown in this link.
Please read through the information and if you qualify for the terms, you can proceed to submit your information which will be reviewed. If the claim is approved, you may be reimbursed for any penalties and interest from the date of your first notice from the state taxing agency.
TurboTax will take responsibility for the Penalties and interest accrue for the late payment if you filed with TurboTax. Call in to TT to make sure it is known you are an affected party.
Do you have a number? I spent an hour and never could reach a human being. I paid the $$ Nm asked as it a was accruing daily interest and TT never updated the letter they originally sent us. They really left us hanging on this.
