First what is your SLR on your LES ?
Yes, you can amend your state return. Your federal return does not change based on your state residency, so unless you need to change your income or deductions, you can amend the state only.
I am assuming you are on active duty in the military since you said you were stationed in New York.
When you are in the military and are stationed in a different state, you file your taxes as a resident of your home of record state. If you have only military income, you don't have to file in the state where you are stationed.
If you have non-military income where you are stationed, such as a part time job, a spouse with a non-military job or a side business, that non-military income is taxable where you are stationed.
To amend your state only in TurboTax:
You can amend your return to change your residency. If you did have earnings in Texas in December, those earnings would not go on your Maryland (MD) tax return. If the income you received in December was from a MD source, then that income would not be taxable to MD since they did not change the rules for remote workers due to COVID.
The amended form will be ready later in the year. By using the link, Tax Forms Availability, you can continue to check to see when it's ready. If you decide you do need to amend use the steps in the link below.
If there is no change to your state return, then you do not need to amend.
