I got a few questions the below discussion
We filed our business taxes for the first time using turbo tax. After 3 days, we realized that we did not add a few business expenses.
In 2-3 days we got a message that both Federal and state taxes got accepted.
During this time we thought we should add those business expenses we missed and started to work on making changes by amending the return which is there in Turbotax Business. We made changes to the existing file in the turbo tax and went through all the steps, In the end, what we noticed is there are no Taxes to efile. Do we need to print and mail the amended taxes to the CA state Franchise tax board? Federal taxes don't show that. Does it mean that the changes we made to both Federal got accepted but the state did not get accepted? We never received any update in an email that Federal got accepted after amending the return.
We are confused about which one got accepted by Fed and State? The first one that we filed OR the one we amended after 3 days?
Do we still need to Print and send both Fed and State amended returns by Mail?
Second Thought we got - Since the Business expenses we missed are not a lot. What if we just take it on ourselves and ignore sending the amended print Copy of returns by mail to both Fed and State? Will the Fed and state take the first accepted returns or do they still ask us for the Amended returns?
