Paper returns are taking much longer than the usual 6-8 weeks so you will need to be patient.
I still waiting for the ITIN number I mailed to the IRS Austin TX 73301 on March 20, 2021
After 10 weeks I still waiting for the number. How long does it takes to get the number? Does any one who sent the application on March got any answer?
The IRS says "usually it takes 7 weeks" however this is NOT a usual year ... expect it to take much longer. Hopefully you sent the correct paperwork to the correct address and attached a copy of the federal return to it.

If you mailed the ITIN application with the tax return directly to the IRS then you will be waiting a long long time until they forward the package to the correct place (if they do it at all ... they may mail it back to you).
I file with an Aceptance Agent from the IRS and they sent the application to the address the IRS ask them to send Austin TX 73301
Did they also send the return with the application ??? If not then you will need to file the return later once you get the number.
Yes they did everything well. I saw people that they sent their applications on February 22 and received their ITIN mid April or first week of May (9 to 11 weeks ) I hope there is no reason at this time for more delays
Anything requiring human attention is taking a lot longer than normal again this year.
Well in my case I applied in first week of February and I still haven't received my wife's ITIN.
I called IRS twice and it's not even in their system yet. They told me to wait 30 more days and then consider re applying..
So let's see what happens
My concern now is that the Aceptance agent sent my ITIN application with my tax refund to Austin TX 73301 Is that the correct address?
I see you didn't click on the link I posted ... try again ... https://www.irs.gov/individuals/how-do-i-apply-for-an-itin
Thank you for your help They send my application to Austin TX 73301
what is going to happen now?
The ITIN is issued and a letter with that number is sent to you that you can use to complete a state return if needed and the federal return is forwarded to the IRS for processing but like I said the time it will take to issue the ITIN and process the return is totally unknown but will take a long long time.
They sent my W7 ITIN application to a different post office instead to sent it to :
ITIN operation Austin TX 78714
They sent my W7 ITIN application to: IRS AUSTIN TX 73301
what is goin to happen if they send the application to TX 73301 instead of Tx78714
I am very concern now Are they going to process my ITIN application either way?
If it was sent to the incorrect office they will eventually forward it to the correct one ... you are not the first person to do this and will not be the last. This will add more time to the processing naturally.
Thank you for your help I am so nervous with this process
Thank you for your patience
