I also got a 4464c letter from the irs my return was a simple one filed single and now their checking me out ive never had a problem before in my life with my taxes why now

@nenaputrice if u lost your job u should be able to get a TA they will ask you fax over letter from employer but losing a job does get you a TA u may need to call the TA manager

@nenaputrice yes call them back because I have a job and I got a TA but the IRS rep had told me what to say to get a TA ! My taxes hadn't even been touch so the IRS rep told me I needed a TA for weeks they had been saying there was nothing I needed to do and just to wait finally after a lot calls I had a IRS rep to tell me mines hadn't even been touch and if I was getting behind on bills to get a TA I got one now I sent them everything they needed and my TA told me between 3-6 weeks to get my money it's now been 2 weeks but I got my fingers cross

I called Monday as that was the 60 days and was given the same shit answer. They have sent a msg to the verification dept and they now have 60 additional days to give me my refund or send a letter for additional info request. They have yet to need anything from me at this point.

So i called again to the IRS. Looks like im not seeing my return till the summer.
Im going to just send them what I have maybe they'll speed up the process.

@adam.mandi that's what i don't understand, why can't they just let us know what they need so we can get it going. I have called several times and no one knows anything. My 60 business days are up already and still nothing. So frustrating

@b_fraire they told me i will receive a letter by mail when my 60 business days are up. Then if they need additional information im going to need to provide that once they process that then ill get another letter saying if or not i will receive my return. One im going to show my income and two going to show proof of child care fees, my childs ss # and b.c. and all my legal documents showing legal full custody of my daughter. I don't know what else they are going to need but my identification as well. So hopefully ill get some where???

I filed Jan 20th, was accepted Jan 25th.  I received my 1st letter march 5th ANF another march 12th stating my return was under review since Feb 26th.  I have made many calls to the it's with absolutely no information as to why.  The only answer I got was I had to wait the full 60 days of review before any information could be given.   Here we are, April 26th (60 days since letter, 90 days since acceptance) I finally talked to a irs representative and she still could not tell my what was being reviewed.  He answer to day was that she was sending a "referral"   which she said was just an email to the department handling my return and that that had ANOTHER 60 DAYS to either contact me or release the money.     I've lost all hope. I can't even get a straight answer or help from anyone.

I am so sorry I feel the exact same way. Everything that you just did I did on Monday and got the exact same response and the exact same referral and a thank you very much wait another 60 days. It is so extremely frustrating and I feel hopeless as well. You absolutely cannot get a valid response from anyone at the IRS. All they did was give me more stress by taking my phone number and Advising that they may call for additional information yet don't see any need for any additional information from me at this point oh and to add insult to injury they stated they see absolutely nothing wrong with my return and that they thought it should have been already cleared up before the 60 days ended. I am so sorry for you but no you're not alone.
