So I accidentally said I was going to be claimed as a dependent in my 2020 taxes. Which in reality I had a legal guardian up until the age of 18. I am now 20 with no one claiming me as a dependent. Due to the government giving out stimulus checks does this mean I won't be able to receive the check since I said I was a dependent? Do I need to Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return in order to receive the check?

While it is true that you won't get a stimulus check if you are claimed as a dependent on someone's tax return, it is less clear how that works if you said you could be claimed but weren't actually claimed.
It would not do any harm to file the amended return however, so I would suggest you do so, unless you aren't in a hurry to get the check. You could wait to see if you get a check before doing the amendment, as you will still have time to submit it later on.
