Hello. I did my taxes and them received another w-2 in the mail from a job I worked at for 1 day. I tried to add it but it's already accepted. Will I still be able to receive my taxes then add the w2 once they start allowing amends? What should I do? Can I cancel?

Yes, you will have to amend. once that option is available. You can't cancel or call back what you have already filed.

Okay so does that mean I won't receive any taxes until I do that?

@Brittanynball781 No, if the IRS accepts your original return (without the extra W-2) then you will receive the refund on the return.

Once TurboTax allows you to amend your return in late February then you can add the new W-2 and file your amended return. If you get a second refund, that will come with your amended return.

If you have to pay something back, you can send the IRS a check.

If you have a state return, you may have to amend that too,.

So my question is similar... What if i filed my taxes.. and a 2nd w2 came can I just file that w2 next year? And not amend

No, you cannot file your second 2021 W-2 next year. It is likely that the IRS will reject your return since the W-2 is not on the return. In this case, you will have to add your second W-2 to your return and refile. If the IRS accepts your return, you will have to amend it to include the second W-2.

How to amend (change or correct) a return you've already filed
