You paid who too much money? Turbo Tax or the IRS? What credit are you looking for? The new 10,200 unemployment exemption?
If you filed before the $10,200 unemployment exclusion, the IRS will recalculate your return for you. There is no need for taxpayers to file an amended return unless the calculations make the taxpayer newly eligible for additional federal credits and deductions not already included on the original tax return.

If you filed before the new 10,200 exemption then keep waiting for the IRS to adjust your return for the unemployment exemption. They will automatically adjust it and send you the new amount.
there is no credit. if you qualify some of your unemployment becomes non-taxable.- bigger refund or smaller amount due. do you live in a state with an income tax because they're different
for the following states, no amended return is required
some tax UC - no exemption
some always exempted UC
some will make the refund automatically
some require an amended return to get back the state taxes paid on the exempt UC
