I recently submitted (and already accepted by IRS) a 2021,1120S form. Per previous posted instructions, I went back and renamed file to allow an amended return. When I reached the last "stage" to file the form, I receive an error that says I have already filed my (original) 1120S. It's my understanding that TurboTax now allows e-filing of superseded business forms (i.e 1120S). Why is this not working. IRS states if you filed electronically, the superseded/amended return also has to be filed electronically.

Yes, an amended 1120-S can be e-filed with professional tax software.
This has been an issue in the past and I am not certain whether it has been resolved or is in the process of being resolved.
Regardless, you might actually have to start a new 1120-S with the amended/superseded information.
@Irene2805 has the following excellent advice available here-
Before amending the return, create a copy so that your original return remains intact. If you haven't done this, I suggest you remove the changes you've made on the 1120S and follow these steps:
Thanks, that is exactly what I did. Tried three times (deleting previous saved file. Each time I get a response, as I stated in my original post , that I already filed and it referred to the date of my original filing.

Based upon the experience of @robbinsb and at least one other (current) user, it appears as if the TurboTax servers are flagging the returns and e-filing fails if they have the same EIN.
If that is the case, nothing is going to work until Intuit fixes this issue with TurboTax.
How can this be reported to Intuit? I can't get through on the support line. I get recorded message I pay to pay $29 for support as I am using a "free" version of online. Is there another contact number to I can report this?
The issue already has been reported to Intuit.
We are aware of this experience. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Thanks for everyone's help. FYI, I did initiate a new 1120-S return (amended box "x") from scratch as recommend. When I attempted to file, it responded with an error stating I couldn't file due to duplicate EIN.
In the event it becomes necessary, I note the IRS form 1120-S instructions DO NOT state that an amended Form 1120-S has to be filed electronically.
I had a tax person e-filed my 1120S. However, that person is out of the country so I cannot use him to amend my 1120S. I bought Turbotax Business and try to amend 1120S. I went all the way to the end and check "Yes" on "Do you need to file an amended 2021 S coporation return?". However, got this error when beginning to e-file the return:
This return has certain forms that can't be e-filed, usually because of tax regulations, so you'll need to print and file by mail. To file by mail, select File tab, then continue and select File by Mail.
Is it true that amended 1120S cannot be e-filed?

Yes, not with TurboTax Business if the return contains certain forms.
However, regardless of which forms the return contains, amended returns cannot be filed with TurboTax Business if an original return has previously been filed with the program.
For clarification, I didn’t use TurboTax to file the original 1120S. It was filed by a tax professional. But he now is not available to amend my 1120S. Basically, TurboTax has previous record of the filing. I basically created a new 1120S and check the amended box. I also followed instructions to rename the file with amended, but still same error. Is there anyway to e file the amended 1120s?

I have made an attempt with a test 1120-S in TurboTax Business and it failed.
With the Amended box checked, I get the same message as did you and the program did not provide me with the opportunity to attach the transmittal form (8453-S).
Therefore, at this point I have to conclude e-filing an amended return with the product is not supported, regardless.
The issue is still not resolved. I have tried both approaches to amend an 1120s return: from a copy of the original return with 'Amend' checked in the new form, and starting a completely new return from scratch. Either way, the e-filing status always shows the original filing status 'the following returns has been transmitted - Federal return on xx/xx/2022'.
Is there a solution from turbotax support team yet?

Yes, it is simply not a supported function; you need to print and mail the return.
