I received a 1095-B with only the last 4 social security numbers showing, is that acceptable in case of an audit from the IRS?

I am asking because the 2015 1095-B I received last year had all of our social security numbers printed (myself, wife, and child). This year the first 5 numbers are X out and only shows the last 4 of our social security #'s. example XXX-XX-1234. Is this acceptable in case of an audit from the IRS or should I request a new 1095-B form with all of our social security numbers showing.

Yes, it is acceptable.

Identity theft is becoming more prevalent, so that's why only the last 4 are printed.

Thanks good to know.  I assume that when the employer reports it to the IRS, the full social is on it anyways? So would it be safe to assume anyways the IRS wont every really audit it anyways if the employers are reporting it?

Also, with the 1095-B, does it only show up as box number 61 as checked on the 1040 form as  X Full year coverage? does it show up anywhere else or do anything else with the form?

If you have the full-year coverage box checked on your 1095-B, all you have to do is say you had health coverage all year.  If this doesn't answer your question, post back to this thread.

I did mark I had health coverage all year. So does it only show up as box number 61 as checked on the 1040 form as  X Full year coverage when you print it out? does it show up anywhere else on tax returns?

If the box on line 61 is checked, it doesn't show up anywhere else on your return.
