After filing my return I noticed that my charitable deductions were limited to 50% of the actual. In previous years 100% were allowed. Is this an error? Total actual was 26,000 on an adjusted income of over $400,000.

Your deduction for charitable donations should not be limited. Even if all your donations were to charities that were limited to 20% of AGI you could still take a deduction of $80,000. It's hard (virtually impossible) to trouble shoot through Answer Xchange), but go back through that section and check your entries. Make sure your cost basis or purchase price that you used is greater than the amount at which you are valuing any non-cash donations.
