After Filing 2021

This year was my first time filing on my own. I was told I should receive the last two stimulus checks and not this years. I received this years yesterday but not the other 2. Does that mean I’m not getting the other 2? Or did the first two stimulus checks come in with my tax return?

If you correctly use the recovery rebate credit on your 2020 tax return the 1st and 2nd stimulus amounts should have been added to line 30 of your Form 1040 and then they would end up as part of your refund that is on line 34.   Look at your tax form---is there an amount on line 30?

If you did not get the first two stimulus checks, then you should have gotten the Recovery Rebate Credit (if you qualified) on your 2020 tax return. This will show up on Line 30 of your 1040. This credit represents the amount of stimulus payments you did not receive, but were qualified for. The credit will either increase your refund or decrease your tax amount due. You will not receive a separate payment for the first two payments if you got the Recovery Rebate Credit.

If you do not see a credit amount on Line 30, then please comment below and we can assist you with amending your return to claim the credit.
