It's past the date the IRS begins processing refunds for people with EIC and what not. Why am I still unable to track mine despite my gf being able to track hers?

I was told that my refund would not be processed until the week of the 17th. It is past that and when I use the track my refund tool it still doesn't show up. But my girlfriends does and we filed at approximately the same time. Why is this???

It doesn't show a tracking bar or anything. I put in all the correct info and it just says that there's no refund info for that information. (I've checked and double checked)

According to the IRS website, there are sometimes delays in processing the returns they receive. They list the reasons for delays. See below.

  • Includes errors

  • Is incomplete

  • Is affected by identity theft or fraud

  • Includes a claim filed for an Earned Income Tax Credit or an Additional Child Tax Credit.

  • Includes a Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation, which could take up to 14 weeks to process

  • Needs further review in general

You can call the IRS, if it has been longer than 21 days, at 1-800-829-1040.

When calling the IRS do NOT choose Option 1.

Choose Option 2

Then Press 1

Then Press 4

Then Press 2, it will then transfer you to an agent.
