I received a letter September 2 2019 and it said I will receive a check in 6 weeks just wanting to know is it real
Most likely it is ... but you can call the number on the notice if you wish ... or call the IRS here ( be prepared to be on hold for a long long time ) ...
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
@Critter thx so much I’m actually holding now. Somebody stole my information and when I filled and carried my kids I was rejected
So did you end up getting extra refund or was that just a letter cuz I received one and I called the IRS but I didn't get a response I was trying to see if it's all the money I've gotten already or was I getting an additional
You responded to a thread that is very old. Is there a specific question we can assist you with?
Today is April 9'2021 and my whole refund was taken but I didn't owe the whole thing I filed mid February was notified a week later that there was 0.00 because it was taken and then on April the 8th I got a notice saying we've adjusted your account to include the following credits you claimed on your tax return EIC ,CTC, and ACTC if you haven't already received your refund which I haven't it says 4-6 weeks but my notice is dated for April 11,2022 what does all this mean and am I owed a refund and If so how much of a refund and when will I really actually receive it
The IRS post dates letters for the expected arrival date. You got your letter sooner than expected. This means the IRS has decided you qualify for those credits. If there is a refund left after debts, you should receive the money in 4-6 weeks.
