50% of expected refund deposited. No Letter

I electronically submitted my tax return at the end of March. It was accepted and I received my state refund within a week. My federal return just sat as received. Then 3 1/2 months later I received 50% of my expected refund. The only message that is showing is the the Appeal process. No letter has shown up to explain what is going on.

Never had this happen before. Any ideas?

It will take a couple weeks or more for the letter to come.  Keep waiting.
