It starts to open and then closes. I have not experienced issues opening previous versions of the software until today and reads "Please give us a moment as we get things ready...ok we know it's taking a little more than a moment". In the past it would run an update, close and then reopen. Tonight it is not doing that. I have 152 GB free space on my hard drive and 16 GB RAM, so my Dell Small Form Factor exceeds any requirements. My connection to the Internet is 11 mbps and other websites are responsive. I have Windows 11 OS and Turbo Tax website indicates that is not an issue. Has anyone else experienced this issue. The last time I opened the application was last Spring when I submitted my return.

The Manual Update itself doesn't (usually) require an uninstall
But an uninstall doesn't delete tax files....but if you are worried about that, back up the 2022 tax files to a USB flash drive first.
Even so, you may just need to call Customer Support instead and let them help you work thru the problem (Weekdays only...so tomorrow, Monday,-or-thru-Friday)

Try using the manual update first.
You can download it here. Then run that update....give it time, last time I used it, it took longer than I expected to finish up.
Manually Update TurboTax for Windows Software (intuit.com)
It will not install. I can download it from my original purchase, but when I do that it tells me I must first uninstall. I am concerned about losing any data or files I have created.

I decided to uninstall my 2017 version and reinstall using my version stored in my Amazon software library. Thank you for your support. I will try 2018 and if that works, I will uninstall and reinstall each version up to 2022, all of which the original versions are in my Amazon software library. If it works that will be great. If I have a problem, I will call TurboTax tomorrow. I was concerned I would not be able to import my 2022 tax data into my 2023 Turbo Tax. I hope this works and appreciate your advice.
You only need the data file ending in .tax2022 to transfer into 2023. It should be in your Documents in a Turbo Tax folder. Or search your computer for all files ending in .tax or .tax2022 . The data files are not stored in the program. You don't need the 2022 program installed to transfer into 2023. But you should be backing up all the .tax files and pdf files each year to a flash drive or somewhere off your computer.
I found once I reinstalled the 2017 version mentioned before and patched it that all the other versions worked without unistalling and I only had to update each version 2018-2022 which took about a minute apiece. Thanks again.
I use Carbonite to back up all the files on all our computers. I was more concerned about corrupting the data. I had to uninstall and then download and reinstall the application and then patch it. I decided to start with 2017 as it was the oldest version I have on my newest computer and Windows 11. Once I completed that workflow, I did not have to uninstall each version, download and reinstall. All versions opened and updated any patches for version 2018-2022. I am confident that my data will transfer once I install my 2023 TurboTax. I have been using the product since 2007, and this was the first time I had a problem. Perhaps when I upgraded my 2 year old Dell from OS 2010 to OS 2011 something got broken. But all is working fine now. Thank you for your response.
