1099 MISC Reporting

I filed my tax return and then recieved a 1099-MISC form from an online gambling platform. I reported my gambling winnings on my return before I received the form (I wasn't expecting this form as I've never gotten one previously), which in total were more than what is reported in the 1099-MISC I received. Do I need to amend my return now that I have this form or am I okay to leave it as is since my reported gambling winnings are over the reported winnings in box 3 of the 1099?

1099 MISC Reporting

You don't need to amend the return since you reported all of your gambling winnings. However, gambling winnings are usually reported on a Form 1099-G and since you didn't enter that on your tax return, the IRS will likely inquire about that at a later time. If that happens, you can explain what happened and that should resolve the issue. However, you can amend the return if you want even though your tax won't change. It may prevent the IRS from inquiring about the missing Form 1099-G entry.
