I am a first time small nail business. I don’t know much about taxes, but looked at my tax paper from last year when i was working for my dad. I e-filed 1099-Misc the other day (which looked different compared to last year) then i e-filed for 1099-Nec. Now both are submitted. What do i do and which form was i suppose to fill. It was supposed to be in the box that said non-employee compensation.

Are you asking about a 1099Misc and 1099NEC form you prepared to give to people you paid? Or trying to enter your income? How did you file both? Did you use the Quick Employer Forms? They changed the non-employee compensation from 1099Misc box 7 to the new 1099NEC box 1. You only file the 1099NEC.
For your personal 1040 return you can only 1 return.
Yes! I have prepared it for my employees. I have filed both with Quick Employer Forms
Yikes. So you filed a 1099Misc and a 1099NEC for the same amount? Where did you put it on the 1099Misc? So the IRS is getting double for each person you paid? Did you give your people both the 1099Misc and 1099NEC copies? They will have a problem. The IRS will see double the income. I guess you need to correct the 1099Misc to zero.

Yes. I filed both with the same amount for each person. On the 1099-misc, it was under other income. How do i correct those?
I don't know. Just that link I posted above. Better give your people a heads up.
