Why is SBTPG holding refunds?

After much research I want to know why SBTPG is holding refunds? This is not ok, and I want to know why Turbo Tax is not doing a thing about it? I will never use Turbo Tax or any other tax preparer that goes through SBTPG again. This is from SBTPG's website
"TPG does not hold your money. When a deposit is received from the IRS, your money is processed as soon as it received and typically issued within 24 hours of receipt. If you selected direct deposit, it may take 1-2 business days to reach your bank account. Your payment is not wired to your account."

SBTPG is the worst ever!!! I received my refund in my account on February23, 2022 and the same day on February 23, 2022 they took it right out of my account. WHERE IS MY MONEY?????? I will never use Turbo Tax ever again. Times are already hard for people and then this happens SMH!!!!

If you used Refund Transfer, in this public forum, we do not have access to any information regarding refund processing. It would be necessary to contact TPG for additional information. They are one who handles your refund if you elected to pay your fees with your refund. You can also check out this TPG Help Article to check on your refund.

Not true! I received an email from TPG stating that the IRS sent my refund to them on 2/1/22! Today is 3/11/22 and I still have nothing! They are indeed holding my refund!

Yep they're holding them for unusual activity that they won't verify so they can collect interest in their bank accounts that they open up... Pretty scammy.

I was supposed to have mine the 24th but somehow what was supposed to be a direct deposit turned in to getting a check that I apparently can't have canceled since there was a mistake and it should have been made as a direct deposit but also no one can tell me when it'll even be mailed out so I now face potential eviction because of their error and inability to correct it or even tell me anything about it apparently it's ridiculous

Lmao how about you “turbo tax” reach out to them and ask them what the hold up is. We have all said that we have already called them but u continue not to listen. You reply with the same message all the time with BS. Stand up for us, we have all paid you huge amounts of money to use your program which also says they will help in any way. So nows your chance . Get our money back. Quit commenting on here with the same BS and do something

I feel exactly how you do I was told by the IRS my check was released on the third I called sbtg on the third they said it wasn't there made sense to me on the seventh I called back the automated machine said a paper check was distribute it to me on the seventh I called back on the ninth the automated machine said a check was sent out to me on the ninth I called back on the 13th it told me a check was sent out to me on the 13th every day I car it tells me my check was sent out that day then I spoke to representatives and they say my check was sent out on the 16th or the 18th no this was the 16th when I spoke to them then I called back on the 21st and spoke to a representative and she said my check was sent out on the ninth I explain to her that I have an email from SBTG saying my check was sent out on the 16th or the 18th then she put me on hold and said yes it was sent out on the 16th or the 18th at this moment I don't know where my money is that the IRS released it on the third I will never use TurboTax again and I have use them for the last nine years

I finally made a TikTok with #sbtpg and adressing all of our concerns and tagged TurboTax, CNN, etc… I’m finding that making noise via social media gets faster results than these people ever will.

I would like to start some form of repercussions to TPGSB as they also have my refund and I have called numerous times been on hold for hours at a time. I got a live person once and got hung up on. If anyone else would like to do something about this please help me make them get the punishment they deserve. If we did not pay or acted this way we would be held accountable and face consequences as should they. I am going to look for a lawyer to do something about this matter.

I filed a complaint with the BBB IRS recommended the FDIC whichever bank they send your direct deposit to whether it's greendot or the other one. They are total frauds and are aware of what they're doing they just don't care. I had to beg and email them 5 times a day until my funds were finally released direct deposit. They claimed it was an Identity issue which is a total coverup lie so they can collect interest on the money chilling in whichever bank they sent it to.

my refund was sent to tpg on 2/24 and according to the irs agent i spoke with it was sent back. i cant get in touch with anyone at tpg via any number that turbo tax has given me to even get an explanation or any info as to where my money is. does anyone have a number that they have used to reach a live person?

After a full two months I finally received my check.

turbo tax Facebook team was super helpful after a bumpy start.

SBTPG is a terrible company though.

on March 10th I was told it would be sent Friday March 11th and to wait 7-10 business days which would conclude on March 24.

on March 22 they said give it until March 25th.

on March 29rh I was ensured they reissued a check and would be sending it fed ex overnight. They even sent a tracking number.

when looking at their tracking number it showed that they had only created the label and never actually sent anything.

im assuming they did that to buy some extra time because on April 2nd a check finally arrived.

now here’s the thing…. The check was dated March 15th… 5 days after they said they would send it the next day …..

and the envelope was post marked on March 23rd.

simply amazing how a company can tell so many lies that are easily to be caught. I am happy I have received my funds, but it never should’ve taken this long

Yes the same thing is currently happening to me.....My refund back is $1992.42 and I only received a a deposit of $1,304.53.... That is a $687 discrepancy.......I need someone to look into this because that makes me very uncomfortable as a customer...

Well...I have spoken to a live representative about this and I have now been on hold for an hour with SBTPG... These articles are no help... at the end of the day these are pretty large mistakes...

Never using turbo tax again SBTPG has been holding my refund for more than 2 months worst experience ever.Turbo tax won’t help and SBTPG is an unprofessional scam company they never have a supervisor to talk to they hang up on you today the person that I spoke to told me I don’t care what you do and hung up on me because I said I was very unhappy with the services provided never using turbo tax again.

I'm a fellow user, but may be able to give you a clue on where to look for your refund. See if the following may apply to you. I don't know if you used SBTPG to pay any TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund or not. If you did, then a refund would first go from the IRS to SBTPG's bank to have the fees taken out, then it would go from there to your specified destination. If you did not use that method to pay any TurboTax fees, it should have gone directly from the IRS to your specified destination. In either situation, for your specified destination, you said you didn't enter your own final deposit info, but based on the routing number you posted above, see if you could have chosen the option I describe below, in which case TurboTax would have entered the deposit info.

Is the routing number you posted above for MVB Bank? At least that's what comes up in an Internet search. MVB Bank is the bank used when one chooses to receive their refund into a new Credit Karma Money Spend account and Credit Karma Visa Debit Card. MVB Bank is the bank that administers those products. Do you recall if you chose to receive your refund that way? If so, you need to contact Credit Karma Money Spend account customer service.

They do hold funds and refuse to answer any questions. They will not send my paper check but keep telling me to resubmit the new form since I never got the last two checks. I’ve been in limbo for over 3 months still waiting for my child tax refund. I don’t understand why turbo tax uses them when it’s nothing but complaints.
