Need to redo 2014 taxes (TT Deluxe CD) which include a Schedule C. It will not let me do Business Income and is asking me to pay another $40 for Home & Business.

Long time TT user (20+ years) and Deluxe has always supported Schedule C Business Income. In fact I think this DID support it but it is not doing so now. Assistance is appreciated.

@TurboTaxGabi was that the tax year TTX had "the issue" and put SCH C back into the Deluxe version with an update?
@rsmbob before you pay for any upgrade, and before you open or start any tax return, do open the program and if necessary click "online" and then "check for updates". Do this until the program tells you there are no more updates. See if that takes care of this issue.

Oh wait! I'm not 100% sure as I used Home & Business, but I 'think" the Deluxe version does not include the SCH C. It only includes the SCH C-EZ and if you claim any business expenses, then you "have" to upgrade to Premier.

Yes 2014 was the year they messed up the Desktop programs.  I forget what you have to do.  If there was an update or call support?  Yes all versions should have the full schedule C, even Basic.

My old notes say........
We found out that all the Desktop versions Deluxe and above do have all the forms in them.  BUT not the interview portion.  So if you want you can fill out the forms.  BUT the word we got from the Moderator is..... if you enter something on a form that isn't supported by the version you're using, TurboTax will tell you that you cannot e-file. It also voids the accuracy guarantee. You can still file by mail.

If I recall, the SCH C was not included with TTX 2014 Deluxe when originally released. But was added back with an update. So if one installs TTX 2014 Deluxe, then goes online to get all updates, the SCH C will be back in TTX 2014 Deluxe after all updates are applied.

Yes, I will try an update tonight. The strange thing is that when I originally did the taxes in 2014 it did do Scedule C so something has changed between now and then. Thank you to all for your assistance so far

So did you have to reinstall the CD?  Or is the program still installed from when you filed originally?

Reinstalled on new PC from CD. I thought I ran updates but will double check tonight

After you get the program installed the first thing to do before you open your tax return is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to File-New Tax Return).

Then go to FILE -Open and find your return.

Ok, tried updating and it says I am up to date. I will try uninstalling and re-installing the CD and run the update

Re-installed, started a fake return and tried to go to Schedule C. Still getting the same thing (see attachment. It wants me to pay $40 to upgrade to TT Deluxe Home & Business. I have TT Deluxe Deductions & Homeowners.

Here's the thing...my saved files HAVE Schedule C income and expenses on them so I must have had it...how did I "lose" it, and more importantly how do I get it back without  paying another $40?

I spoke with Intuit Customer Support this morning and after insistence that I had to upgrade, I found a couple of articles online that indicated they had a big problem taking Schedule C and others out of TT Deluxe 2014 and offered free upgrades to fix the problem. Apparently I upgraded the fix on my old PC but couldn't do it on the new one. They will be sending me a CD with the update. The CS Rep was helpful after I had to get my issue across to her multiple times.
