I just received my second round stimulus check and for the second time my child didn't receive a payment. We filed our taxes for 2019 in February 2020. And qualify for the full amount. I see for out first missed $500 child payment we can use a recovery rebate credit: https://blog.turbotax.intuit.com/tax-deductions-and-credits-2/what-is-a-recovery-rebate-tax-credit-48681/ What about for the second round? The second round is passed as a 2021 act, but I believe based on 2019 taxes again. Would we be able to file the missing $500 AND $600 payment on our 2020 taxes? I know it's early and day one, but wanted to ask right away to see how others will be handling this issue. Thank you.

You can deduct the interest of this if the company managing the SSA separates the principle and interest. Horrible advice by saying NO. this person just lost some money if they didn't claim the interest. Which in some cases, is pretty high if the SSA is relatively new.
